LIZ India Earns Recognition for Excellence at Vedanta BALCO’s Sahbhagita Awards

LIZ India, a subsidiary of groupLTT, achieved a prestigious milestone by being named the best Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) team across all Vedanta BALCO business units (SBUs) at the Sahbhagita Awards—Vedanta’s platform dedicated to recognizing engagement, idea generation, safety culture, and accountability for results.

The team took home the coveted Rolling Trophy for Asset Optimization and Maintenance, an honor reflecting LIZ India’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence and world-class preventive maintenance.

But the recognition didn’t stop there. The PRM (Pot Room Maintenance) team won the Best Idea Implementation Award for Pot Line 3, thanks to three initiatives that—despite their apparent simplicity—delivered real, measurable impact: implementing logic to log every calibrator opening command, reinforcing protection for PTM cable trays, and creating a standardized PTM rotation marking system. Together, these improvements cumulatively enhanced reliability, maintainability, and process efficiency over time.

The team was also recognized for the “PTM Long Travel Hooter Sound Differentiation” initiative—a proactive safety improvement that enhanced awareness of equipment movement and made the work environment significantly safer.

“None of these ideas are glamorous. None were difficult to implement. But they were the right ones to act on,” notes LIZ India’s official publication. This spirit—of continuous improvement, attention to detail, and valuing small actions that drive significant impact—lies at the heart of groupLTT’s culture across its global operations. The distinction at Vedanta BALCO reinforces LIZ India’s position as a benchmark industrial partner in the Asian region and demonstrates that the LTT Group’s technical excellence is evident at all levels of the organization, from top management to the team on the ground.
